I am currently interested in the history of the Reformation period. Specifically, I have focused my attention on the impact of reform in the 16th century through print media (books) and new laws. I believe it is very important to understand how the events of the Reformation unfolded "on the ground" in local communities. Understanding how new movements, beliefs, and attitudes among people related to the new ideas espoused by influential thinkers of the same period is critical. Thinkers and rulers had never before held such a direct impact on the public. Although fundamentally a period of religious change, the Reformation was a time when the implementation of printing and new legal practices was carried out with remarkable prowess and conviction.
